The YWCA Internship Program’s mission is to maintain expertise in the field of sexual and domestic violence and child development by engaging interns in cutting edge theory and interventions. The program provides a challenging learning environment where theoretical and practical knowledge combine to create a rich and relevant clinical and/or macro experience.
Interns placed at the YWCA engage in activities such as providing individual counseling, facilitating support groups, creating treatment plans, engaging in case management, developing policies, evaluating programs, developing programs, and grant writing. They also provide court and hospital accompaniment, advocacy, and network with other community agencies. Undergraduate and graduate students at local colleges and universities are encouraged to apply.
