YWCA announces induction of new Board members

Richmond, VA, February 29, 2008 – The oldest YWCA in the South, the YWCA of Richmond announces the appointment of its newest members to the Board of Directors.  The following individuals have been named to serve on the Board of Directors: Ali Bayler (Troutman Sanders, LLP); Rubie R. Britt-Height (Virginia Museum of Fine Arts); Michelle Lightfoot (Saint Paul’s Baptist Church); Alison Rogish (Deloitte Services, LLP); Jo Ann Stoddard (Retired, Richmond Capital Management); and Linda Lambert (Lambert and Associates). 

Current Board leadership includes Katherine E. Busser, President (Capital One); Laura Lee Chandler, Vice-President (Community Volunteer); Christine Longfield, Treasurer/Secretary (Community Volunteer); Yvonne Haynes (Richmond Behavioral Health Authority); Barbara C. Joynes (The Martin Agency); Alice Land (SunTrust Bank); Sharon McGinty (Capital One); Dr. Meena Midha (Retired, McGuire Veterans Medical Center); Marvette Monroe (Community Volunteer); Lou Anne J. Nabhan (Media General, Inc.); Cassandra Peters (Community Volunteer); Theresa Roddy (Wachovia Securities); Christine Schwab (Dominion); and Maresa Spangler (Community Volunteer).

 

Since 1887, the YWCA of Richmond has responded to the needs of vulnerable persons residing in Central Virginia. The primary goals of the organization are to empower women to live healthy, violence-free lives and to eliminate racism through the early education of children.  The YWCA of Richmond provides confidential services to victims of domestic and sexual violence, including a 24-hour crisis line, safe-housing, and counseling.  The YWCA also offers NAEYC accredited full-day, year-round preschool programming.
