Purpose

The Gift Card Program allows the YWCA to respond to the ever changing needs of the families that we serve.  Clients can use the gift cards to purchase items such as the following:

  • appropriate seasonal clothing
  • household items and a basic stock of food for transition to a new home
  • educational toys
  • school and classroom supplies
  • field trip necessities

By picking up a gift card from Target, Wal-Mart or Ukrop’s and donating it to the YWCA of Richmond, you can make a direct and positive impact on someone’s life that will have long-term benefits. 

 

Steps

  • Go to your local Target, Wal-Mart or Ukrop’s and purchase a gift card in the amount you can give (Increments of $20, $40 and $50 are most appropriate)
  • Download and complete the donation form here or simply include the following information in an envelope with your gift card:  name, address, phone number,         e-mail and gift card amount
  • Identify whether you would like for the gift card or another monetary donation to be made in someone’s honor, and provide the individual’s name
  • Drop it off or mail it to the YWCA at 6 North 5th Street, Richmond, VA 23219, ATTN:  Gift Card Program
  • Share the news of the gift card program with your friends and family so that we can help even more women and children
  • Stay tuned for more news about the YWCA of Richmond, upcoming events and     programs that are helping our community

  • In addition to knowing that you have helped to touch the life of a family in need, your contribution to the YWCA is completely tax-deductible.
