The Outstanding Women Awards recognizes women in the Richmond area who have made significant contributions to our community through their exceptional leadership qualities, as well as for excellence, achievements and dedication in their careers and to society. First celebrated in 1980, this prestigious award program honors one woman in each of ten categories. Previous winners have come from many diverse segments of our community, but they share a commitment to improving the quality of life for all people. See our complete list of honorees from 1980-2009
This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the Outstanding Women Awards. The honorees will be formally recognized at the luncheon event on Friday, April 23rd, 2010. The luncheon is the YWCA’s signature fundraising event. Over 900 members of the metro Richmond community attend each year and funds raised go to support the YWCA’s three core program areas: Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence and Early Childhood Education.
Last year’s luncheon was an enormous success due to the generosity of over 30 sponsors. It’s not too late to join in this year as a sponsor. All levels of sponsorship include tickets to the luncheon and special recognition, as well as other exciting benefits. For more information on how your company can be a part of this year’s event, please contact Lauren Rosati at 804-643-6761 x116.
The nomination period for the 2010 Outstanding Women Awards is closed. Please check back for more information about nominations for the 2011 Outstanding Women Awards.
